History and Uses
This rare stone was first described in 1819, and named for the Greek phrase eu dialytos, meaning “well decomposable” because it dissolves easily in acid. It has also been called Almandine spar, Eudyalite and Saami blood and ranges in colour from pink to deep plum, often with black, gray or white veins. It has traditionally been used as a personal power stone because it increases vitality, inspires confidence and balances the emotions.
