Azurite in Granite was recently found on a mountain in Pakistan, next to the famous ‘K2’ peak, also known as Chhogori/Qogir, Ketu/Kechu, or Mount Godwin-Austen. K2 is the second-highest mountain on Earth (Mt. Everest is the highest). K2 is located on the border between Baltistan, in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of northern Pakistan, and the Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County of Xinjiang in China.

Azurite is a copper carbonate mineral with a hardness of 3.5 to 4. It frequently appears in combination with Malachite, another copper carbonate. Azurite is found in Australia, China, Chile, Russia and the USA.
