History and Uses
Bumble Bee Jasper is named for its swirly striped yellow and black patterns. It is also known as Eclipse Stone or Fumerole/Fumerolic Jasper. This crystal can contain colours ranging from bright yellow to orange, brown and white.
This crystal is mined from the active volcano Mount Papandayan in West Java, Indonesia. As such, it is quite difficult and dangerous to mine.
Traditionally, it was used as an energising crystal. Moreover, its energy is believed to strengthen the nervous system and help speed recovery from illness or injury. Also, it is thought to increase mental clarity and boost personal power. As such, it can be used to help us organise our lives, trust our instincts and make the best decisions for ourselves. Similarly, it is thought to ease anxiety of those who worry about other’s opinion of them.
Please note, all of our Bumblebee Jasper pieces are sealed to protect from the toxic arsenic and sulphur contained in the raw stone.
Bumble Bee Jasper is not actually a Jasper. It doesn’t contain quartz and is formed from sedimentary rock. Actually, it is a member of the Agate family. As such, it contains calcite and minerals including sulphur, hematite, ilmenite, anhydrite, as well as ash from the live volcano it originates from. It is found in West Java in Indonesia.
I am confident, I look forward to change and welcome new opportunities.
