Raw Ametrine Specimen

This Raw Ametrine Specimen is sourced from Brazil and features a gorgeous mix of colours that symbolize harmony and balance. Ametrine is a naturally occurring fusion of Amethyst and Citrine, displaying beautiful bands of purple, usually the predominant colour and subtle golden-yellow hues.

Ametrine is used for its dual benefits: Amethyst's calming, protective energies combined with Citrine's ability to promote positivity and mental clarity. Ideal for meditation, it can be placed on your desk or used in healing practices to support balanced emotions and clear thinking. Ametrine aligns well with the Crown and Solar Plexus Chakras, enhancing both spiritual insight and personal power.

Ametrine Crystal Healing Properties

Ametrine is believed to empower individuals to conquer their apprehension of taking action and making progress. It is thought to be beneficial in dispelling mental haziness, fostering mental clarity, and promoting sustained focus and heightened alertness. Often associated with the muses, Ametrine is thought to facilitate the connection with inspired ideas and their manifestation. Moreover, it has a reputation for nurturing a profound understanding of one’s inner strength and untapped potential. Additionally, this gemstone is believed to boost learning capacity and improve memory retention. In a similar vein, it is said to offer support for digestive problems and the stimulation of metabolic processes.

History and Uses

Ametrine is a mixture of Amethyst and Citrine and is also known as Trystine or Bolivianite. The different colours are produced by the iron in the stone. This oxidises at different rates due to exposure to different temperatures as the crystal is formed. It was first seen in 17th Century Spain when it was presented to the Queen as a gift from the New World.

Legend of the Bolivian Ametrine states that a mine was given to a Spanish conquistador. It was given to Felipe de Urriola y Goitia as a dowry gift from Anahi an Ayoreo Princess. When it came time for him to return to Spain Anahi planned to go with him, against the wishes of her people, who attempted to kill Don Felipe to prevent him from taking her. However, Anahi was accidentally killed as she was warning him of his fate and as she lay dying she gave him an Ametrine crystal. The two colours in the stone, purple and orange, represent how she was torn between her love for her tribe and her love for her husband.

Geological Description

Ametrine is a combination of Amethyst and Citrine in the same stone. It is a member of the quartz family, with a hardness of 7. It is found in Brazil, Uruguay and Bolivia.
