Citrine is thought to be a great manifester. It is believed to help clear and activate the lower chakras, the powerful points in our energy system for manifestation and creation work. Also, this crystal helps us maintain direction and overcome obstacles. Similarly, it may assist with setting proper emotional boundaries and clearly maintaining them. In addition, many find this crystal has a joyful, playful energy that can bring light and optimism.
The name Citrine, comes from the French word citron meaning lemon. It was used as a gemstone in Greek jewellery as long ago as 300BC. This crystal varies in colour from the deep amber of heat treated Amethyst, to the pale yellows and browns of the natural variety.
Citrine is a member of the quartz family, a silicon dioxide mineral with a hardness of 7. Its yellow colouring comes from the inclusion of iron in the quartz. Natural Citrine is mostly a pale yellow colour, while the darker, more orange specimens are often heat treated Amethyst. The latter is the most widely found and popular type of Citrine. Deposits are found in Brazil, Africa, Madagascar, Spain, Russia, France, Scotland and the USA.

For everyday wearers, we recommend crystals that fall in the Quartz family or have a Moh's hardness level of over 5.5-6.
Avoid excessive water exposure, especially in pools or the ocean and any harsh chemicals.
Delicate crystals like Amber, Moonstone, Opal, and iron-based meteorites need gentle handling due to potential discolouration or structural risks. These are best as occasion pieces.
Store safely, and clean with care.
