New Jade is a soft, green variety of Serpentine, often mistaken for true jade due to its similar appearance. This gentle stone is believed to soothe the emotional body, easing fear of change and uncertainty. It encourages a more optimistic outlook, helping one approach the future with greater peace and confidence.
Often associated with Earth energies, Serpentine is thought to carry ancient wisdom, connecting us to the history of the planet, as well as the subtle realms of nature—such as the Devic and elemental worlds. It supports a deeper connection to the heart and mind of nature and is sometimes used in practices focused on inner harmony and energetic flow.
Traditionally, Serpentine has also been linked with Kundalini activation, helping to awaken dormant energies and support the clearing of blocked chakras. Some believe it may assist in energetic replenishment and maintaining balance on a cellular level.
Serpentine, also known as New Jade, derives its name from the Latin word serpentis meaning snake-like referring to the resemblance these green stones have to snakeskin. This stone was used by the Romans to protect them from sorcery and was believed to protect against parasites, snakebite, venom and poison.
New Jade is a magnesium silicate mineral with a hardness from 2.2 to 5. It occurs in dense masses or fibrous forms. Its colour can vary from yellow to dark green and is widely found around the world including Great Britain, South Africa, Brazil and the USA.

Avoid excessive water exposure, especially in pools or the ocean and any harsh chemicals.
Delicate crystals like Amber, Moonstone, Opal, and iron-based meteorites need gentle handling due to potential discolouration or structural risks. These are best as occasion pieces.
Store safely, and clean with care.
