Serpentine is believed to assist in soothing the emotional body, releasing fear of change or hardship and helping us to look to the future with a positive outlook. Also, it is thought to contain the history of the Earth, the fairy domains and the Devic realms of the planet. This crystal helps us to connect with the heart and mind of Nature. It is believed to help regulate cellular regeneration and replenish energy. It has been traditionally used for Kundalini activation and clearing blocked energy centres.
Serpentine, also known as New Jade, derives its name from the Latin word serpentis meaning snake referring to the resemblance these green stones have to snakeskin. This stone was used by the Romans to protect them from sorcery and was believed to protect against parasites, snakebites, venom and poison.
Serpentine is a magnesium silicate mineral with a hardness from 2.2 to 5. It occurs in dense masses or fibrous form and it was named because of its similarity to the look of snake skin. Its colour can vary from yellow to dark green and is widely found around the world including Great Britain, South Africa, Brazil and the USA.

For everyday wearers, we recommend crystals that fall in the Quartz family or have a Moh's hardness level of over 5.5-6.
Avoid excessive water exposure, especially in pools or the ocean and any harsh chemicals.
Delicate crystals like Amber, Moonstone, Opal, and iron-based meteorites need gentle handling due to potential discolouration or structural risks. These are best as occasion pieces.
Store safely, and clean with care.
