Labradorite Crystal Healing Properties

Labradorite is believed to stimulate the inner eye, enabling individuals to gain a clearer perspective on past events, future possibilities, and distant locations. In doing so, it can aid in the transition to higher levels of consciousness and vibrations, facilitating conscious navigation between different realms. Furthermore, it plays a role in promoting the manifestation of fortuitous encounters and meaningful coincidences. Labradorite reveals the remarkable opportunities that emerge when we find harmony in all facets of our existence, whether they are rooted in the every day or the spiritual.

History and Uses

This exquisite gemstone showcases enchanting displays of iridescent hues, including mesmerizing shades of blue, green, yellow, copper, and grey. Its name originates from its discovery in 1770 by Moravian missionaries in Labrador, Canada. Prior to this, it had been utilized by the indigenous people of Maine for more than a millennium. The Inuit people, in their belief, considered it to be fragments of the Aurora Borealis that had descended to the Earth. In addition, shamans and healers have harnessed its properties as a protective, self-exploratory, and universally enlightening stone. Consequently, it has earned the moniker "Stone of Magic" due to its profound significance among diverse cultural groups.

Geological Description

Labradorite is a plagioclase feldspar, a sodium calcium aluminium silicate mineral with a hardness of 6 to 6.5. It is found in Canada, Madagascar, Mexico, Russia and the USA. During the 1940s, a variety of Labradorite exhibiting a complete spectrum of colours was discovered in Finland and christened Spectrolite.

Jewellery Warranty & Care

When crafted into jewellery, some crystals are more hardy than others.

For everyday wearers, we recommend crystals that fall in the Quartz family or have a Moh's hardness level of over 5.5-6.

Avoid excessive water exposure, especially in pools or the ocean and any harsh chemicals.

Delicate crystals like Amber, Moonstone, Opal, and iron-based meteorites need gentle handling due to potential discolouration or structural risks. These are best as occasion pieces.

Store safely, and clean with care.

Rest assured that our 1-year jewellery warranty covers any manufacturing defects.

With proper care, we expect your pieces to last many years to come.

In our 18 years of business, we still wear some treasures from our original collection! Learn more about our warranty and care guide here.
