Tiger Eye is a stone member of the Quartz family, a silicon dioxide mineral with a hardness of 7. It is formed from Hawks Eye through pseudomorphism of Crocidolite in Quartz. This crystal is found in South Africa, India, Burma, Western Australia and the USA.
