History and Uses
Trolleite was first found in Sweden, at the Vastana mine, near Nasum, Skane in 1868. It was named after Hans Gabriel Trolle-Wachtmeister (1782-1871) a Swedish chemist. On a physical level, it is believed to help with headaches, ease pain and assist with sleep.
Geological Description
Trolleite is a phosphate mineral found in massive form, often in combination with Quartz, Lazulite and Scorzalite. It has a hardness of 5.5 to 6 and ranges in colour from light blue, blue-green and grey depending on the mineral content. It is found in Sweden, Rwanda, Australia, Virginia and Brazil.
