This stone gets its name from the minerals it is made up of. Both phosphorous and iron, siderite from the Greek word sideros meaning iron.

Nicknamed the “Stone of Healing and Hope” it has also been called ‘piedrea voga’ and ‘la rosa voca’ meaning pink stone or rock.

In meditation, it may be used to stimulate clairaudience, aid past life recall and connect with spirit guides. Meditating with this stone is thought to help create an atmosphere of peace, allowing the mind to expand and bring in new awareness and insights to aid us in achieving our goals.

Geological Description

Phosphodsiderite is an uncommon stone made of hydrated iron phosphate with a hardness of 3.5 – 4. Its colour varies from a very light pink through to a deep lilac colour in each stone. It can also be found as a deep purple, rose red, reddish brown, green and occasionally rare clear stones. The yellow inclusions in some stones are most likely Cacoxenite. It is most often found in the USA, India, Portugal, Germany, Argentina, and Chile.
